Lois Hampton

Lois A. Hampton, 87, peacefully passed away at 3:15 a.m. Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Alton Rehab and Nursing Center. Born October 17, 1928 in Alton she was the daughter of Joseph and Ruth (Lozier) Jones. On February 26, 1949 she married Alonzo Hampton in East Alton. He preceded her in death on October 8, 2014. Surviving is a son Bradley Hampton (Martha Rankin) of Alton, and a granddaughter, Sarah Hampton of Cottage Hills. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son Terry Hampton. Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Family and friends are invited to meet at Gent Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2016 to process to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery for graveside services at 10:45 a.m. Reverend Steve Rice will officiate.
