Lloyd R. Boomer of Florence,Oregon,formerly of Alton died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016. Mr. Boomer was born Nov. 29, 1925. Mr. Boomer married the former Betty Billingsley 7-19-69 and she survives. He is also survived by his children, Randall(Jill) Boomer of Jerseyville, Timothy Boomer(Maggi-Deceased) of Cottage Hills, and Joyce(Delbert)Cummings of Alton. He is also survived by step-children; Ellene Burrell and Martha Fernite of Springfield,Oregon, Sue Leedal of Prince George, Virginia, and Gary Evans of Coos Bay, Oregon and 1 siseter Nadine Burrell of Oregon. He was preceded in death by a brother, Virgil Boomer and a daughter in law, Maggie Boomer. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Mr.Boomer was a World War II Veteran having fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of VFW and American Legion.
He was an ordained minister of the Church of Christ.
Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 10am at Oak Grove Cemetery. Military honors will be celebrated by the Jerseyville American Legion Post #492.
