Lloyd D. Leichsenring, age 80 of Edwardsville, IL, died Monday, January 15, 2024, at his home, Edwardsville, IL.
He was born on Saturday, April 3, 1943, in Hamel, IL, the son of Gustav and Irma (nee Rotenburg) Leichsenring.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hamel, IL; International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers (58 plus years member).
Born and raised in Hamel, IL, graduated from Edwardsville High School. He served with the US Air Force, from Feb 1962 to Feb 1966, active duty during the Vietnam War. He worked 30 plus years as a machinist at Mc Donnell Douglas Corp., St. Louis. He lived most of his life in Edwardsville. He enjoyed racing cars and was a car enthusiast. He and his brother had a cabin on the Illinois river, where they enjoyed the outdoors and boating.
Survivors include: sister-in-law - Heiderose "Heide" Leichsenring, Hamel, IL; nephews - Michael J. (Lana) Leichsenring, Staunton, IL, Terry L. (Sharon) Leichsenring, New Douglas, IL, and Tommy G. (Dawn) Leichsenring, Worden, IL; niece - Christol L. (Darren) Heberer, Hamel, IL.
He was preceded in death by: parents - Gustav F. and Irma E. Leichsenring, nee Rotenburg and a brother - Jerald D. Leichsenring.
Arrangements are being handled by Dauderman Mortuary in Hamel, IL.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Dauderman Mortuary in Hamel, IL.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Dauderman Mortuary in Hamel, IL., with Rev. William Gleason, Assistant Pastor, St. Paul Lutheran Church, officiating.
Interment will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Hamel, IL.
