Lloyd O. Farrow, 87, of Fieldon, IL passed away suddenly on Tuesday January 9, 2024 at Christian NE hospital surrounded by his family.
Lloyd was born on September 29, 1936 in Oriole, Missouri, the son of the late Oliver and Lena (McClard) Farrow. He was a 4th generation logger and the owner and operator of Lewis and Clark Sawmill in West Alton, MO for many years and was proudly dedicated to his trade.
He is survived by his loving wife Jerry (Allen) Farrow of 64 years. Two daughters Patricia (Gregory) Hughes, Sandy (Greg) Linhoss, and one son Lloyd Farrow Jr. and his grandchildren Jay Niemeyer, Sarah (Justin) Batman, Ashley (Chip) Strutman, Michael (Steven) Farrow, Jordan (Ashley) Linhoss, Evan Linhoss and nine great grandchildren.
He is also survived by two brothers and one sister. Paul (Shirley) Farrow, Barbara (Farrow) Klein, Albert (Arlene) Farrow, and his many nieces and nephews.
Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents.
Lloyd had a personality that was larger than life and was loved by many. His greatest joy was his family whom he loved dearly. He loved the Lord and made it his mission to share the gospel, especially with those struggling with addiction. He was a friend and mentor to many at First Fruits in Jerseyville, IL.
He loved hunting and fishing, especially in the company of his son and grandsons. Lloyd was a quick wit and always had a song or a story to tell which was usually followed by his contagious laugh that lit up a room. He was loving, and kind, and always willing to help someone in need. Visitation will be Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral at 12:00 p.m. noon at Cross Point Church in Fieldon, IL. Burial will be at Fieldon Cemetery.
