Lisa Ann Hayes

Lisa Ann Hayes, 53, passed away at 12:07 pm on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at her home with her family by her side while under the care of BJC Hospice.

 

She was born on September 26, 1959 in Eldorado, IL, the daughter of Glen and Barb (Watson) Phelps. 

She married Patrick Hayes on November 17, 2007 in Granite City with the Rev. Tim Pate as officiant.  He survives.

Lisa graduated from Civic Memorial High School in 1977 and Lewis and Clark Nursing School in 1980. She was a LPN for Nazareth Health Care and took great pride in taking care of the elderly most of all. She also took comfort in taking care of animals especially her pets.  She attended Bethel Baptist Church in Bethalto. She enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and camping.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Brittany Coleman of Bethalto, her parents, Glen & Barb Phelps of Bethalto; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Becky and Tim Pate of Granite City and Linda Maurer of Eldorado, IL; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, John Phelps of Harlington, TX, Rickey and Pat Harris of Herker, IL, Gary Maurer of Evansville, IN and Larry and Barb Maurer of Harrisburg, IL; several nieces and nephews and her constant companions, Poncho and Missy.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Pearl Watson and two sisters, Jackie and Debbie York. 

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Friday, August 9, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Pate officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. 

Memorials may be made to 5 A’s Animal Shelter.
