Linda Werner

Linda R. Werner, 65, of Glen Carbon, Illinois died Monday, December 12, 2016, at the Rosewood Care Center in Edwardsville. Linda started her career at First Federal Savings & Loan in Edwardsville through office occupations at Edwardsville High school in 1968. Linda graduated from EHS in 1969. She retired from First Federal Saving & Loan in Edwardsville after 38 years as a Savings Officer and Corporate Secretary. She attended numerous Savings & Loans Institutes. She was born July 5, 1951, in Granite City, Illinois the daughter of the late Julius & Louise (Houba) Werner. She is survived by 1 brother, Gary J. Werner of Glen Carbon and numerous cousins. Linda was a member and treasurer of the Edwardsville Business & Professional Women’s Club. She very much enjoyed cooking and going to various cooking schools, she spent 20 years as a volunteer at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, and enjoyed traveling and taking numerous trips & cruises with her family & friends, and she was a big fan and enjoyed listening to the Robert Perry Band with the Original Mojos. Linda loved animals and was very fond of her three dogs, Ginger, Penny, & April. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2016, at the funeral home with Rev. Jackie Havis-Shear officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorials may be given to the Animal Rescue & Relief Foundation (ARRF), the Salvation Army, or Partners for Pets.
