Linda Odle

Linda K. Odle, 73, of Nixa, MO, born Monday, December 10, 1951, in East Saint Louis, IL, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, MO.

Linda lived in Troy and Maryville, IL before moving to Nixa, MO. She graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a double major in Psychology and Sociology. She worked for the government of Madison County in various positions for 25 years.

She loved cozy Hallmark Christmas movies, timeless classic shows and films, and adorable animal videos, especially ones with otters and dogs. She enjoyed sports when she was younger, having pitched fast pitch softball well into her 30’s. She also enjoyed working outside in her yard.

Linda had a great love for animals, especially her dog, Sandy. Sandy was always by Linda’s side. They truly had a special bond. But what Linda cherished the most was her family and friends. She valued her relationships with each person she knew. She was grateful to everyone who took time to help her. She was always quick to want to help others. Her circle of friends became her chosen family. She cherished every laugh, late night talk, and memory made with them.

Linda will be remembered for her humor, stubbornness, caring, and willingness to help and give to others.

She is proceeded in death by her:

  • Parents: Herman Henry Norman and Shirley Shepard Odle (Fenn)
  • Aunt: Jean Gaugh

Surviving are her:

  • Children she chose: Sue and Wayne Duncan of Troy, IL
  • Grandchildren:
    • Matthew Duncan of Troy, IL
    • Megan and Dylan Thompson of Livingston, IL
  • Great granddaughter: Dakota Thompson of Livingston, IL
  • Cousins:
    • David and Pam Pepper of Nixa, MO
    • Krystal and Todd Weidner of Katy, Texas
    • Nicole and Sam Keller of San Diego, California

Memorials: In lieu of flowers donations are to be made to the Metro East Humane Society in Edwardsville, IL, or Samaritan’s Purse.

Visitation: Visitation will be held from 11:00am – 1:00pm on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, IL.

Service: Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm December 13, 2025, at Kurrus Funeral Home with Rev. Harvey Gaither officiating. Internment will follow at Green Mount Protestant Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
