Linda Condray

Linda Karen Condray, 64, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Alton Memorial Hospital.

She was born on July 22, 1953, in Marion, IL. The daughter of Troy and Wilma “Bernadean” (Loveall) Sims, both preceded her in death.  Linda married Herbert H. Condray, Jr. on July 24, 1977 at the East Alton Methodist Church, he preceded her in death on July 26, 2004.

Linda was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Bethalto, where she was also a member of the Sew Sisters of the 1st Baptist Church.  She was also a member of Bethalto Eastern Star, Cub Scouts of America and Boy Scouts of America, where she loved camping and fishing with the Scouts, as well as being a member of the Red Hat Society.  She volunteered at the Hope Center and enjoyed Native American crafts and history, making jewelry, swimming, quilting, and sewing.  Linda was very artistic and loved music and singing.  She was also a member of Piasa Black Powder Burners and loved going to Rendezvous and partying with them.  Linda and her husband were owners of Condray Photography, as photography was one of her favorite passions.

She is survived by 3 children, Mary Helen Harris of Illinois, Herbert Hadley III & Bridget Condray of Maryville, and Samuel Ellis & Patricia “Trisha” Condray of Alton; 7 grandchildren, Tabitha Harris, Sarah Harris, Caitlin Condray, Colleen Condray, Adam Zafrans, Alexander Robertson and Michael Robertson; 3 great grandchildren, Eleanore, Xiliana and Luna, 2 brothers, Tom Sims of Texas and Jerry Sims and Carol Buchanan of Colorado.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Sims and a nephew, Randy Sims.

A memorial service will be Saturday, March 31, 2018, from 10 am until time of service at 11 am, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.  Pastor Charles West will be officiating.  Burial will be at Maple Park Cemetery in Springfield, MO, date to be determined later.  Linda was cremated according to her wishes.  Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Greater St. Louis Area Council  for a Boy Scouts of America scholarship funding for summer camp.
