Linda Carroll

Linda Jean Carroll, age 63, of Edwardsville, Illinois passed away at 2:02 a.m. Sunday, February 4, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family. Linda was a retired tax clerk having worked at the Madison County court house in Edwardsville. Linda was born September 18, 1954, in Highland, Illinois the daughter of the late Melvin J. & Marie (Snodgrass) Heien. She married James Carroll on June 12, 1981, at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Glen Carbon. Besides her husband, Jim she is survived by 2 daughters, Karla McDole & husband John and Kelly Voss & husband Tim all of Edwardsville; 1 son, Chase Carroll of Edwardsville; 5 grandchildren, Johnny & Audrey McDole, Owen, Harry, and Stella Voss; 1 brother, Melvin Heien, Jr. & wife Judy of Highland, and 3 sisters, Jo Ann Heien (Bob White), Patti Schaake & husband Dennis, and Debbie Thompson all of Edwardsville.

Linda was a life time member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Glen Carbon. Linda also worked in data processing at the Madison County Courthouse and was self employed as a real estate appraiser. She also worked part time for Senator Evelyn Bowles. Following her retirement Linda was an active volunteer at St. Cecilia’s Church, GlenEd Pantry, and the Glen Carbon Library. Linda enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She attended and filmed all their sporting events and become affectionately known as Grandma Linny.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Glen Carbon. Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 8, 2018, at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Glen Carbon. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Church in Glen Carbon. Memorials may be given to St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, Siteman Cancer Center, or Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
