Linda Glenn
Chesterfield | Save
Linda Dianne (Kahle) Glenn saw her hope of life come forth on June 19, 2026, when she went to be with her lord and Savior while in the loving presence of her family at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. She was 72 years of age.
Linda Dianne (Kahle) Glenn was born on September 17, 1953, to William and Doris (Brown) Kahle in Carlinville, IL.
Linda married William "Andy" Glenn on December 4, 1971, in Chesterfield.
Linda and Andy have one son, Matthew.
She graduated from Carlinville High School class of 1971. She worked for M&M Service Company as a bookkeeper for 32 Years, then upon retiring there, Linda joined Andy at Glenn Insurance Agency for 12 years before retiring in 2020.
She accepted Christ as her Savior while attending Duckels Bible Camp in Chesterfield, Illinois at 10 years of age. She began her journey with the Lord at that time. Linda taught Sunday School for 50+ years. In her childhood she had wanted to be an Overseas Missionary, but God saw her Mission Field in Chesterfield Illinois and the surrounding area.
Many children of Chesterfield were taught by her in Sunday School, Youth Group, Vacation Bible School, Bible Memory Club and the Children’s Service of Church. Teaching children was her calling of the Lord. Her love of children stretched to the time of her passing, still praying for them, their spouses and children. While they were in her class she prayed for them almost daily and after her time with them she prayed for them on her schedule. She would pray for them to come to saving faith in Christ, that their lives and ministries would bring honor and glory to God and Jesus Christ, that they would be involved in the ministry God chose for them, that God was preparing a spouse for them that was a believer and that their children would come to know Jesus as their Savior. Her desire was to have God’s family grow greatly and have these children have a part. She knew that in order to have a good society, you needed to teach the children to love the Lord and give them a Godly foundation for life. That was her continuous goal and prayer for them.
Along with her devotion to God, she immersed herself in the care and love of her family and friends. She was always willing to lend a helping hand or make a batch of her renowned chocolate chip cookies. Her whole life was focusing on the serving and giving to others.
Linda is survived by her husband Andy, son Matthew (Janet) Glenn, mother Doris Kahle, sisters Brenda (Bill) Bennett, Sharon Baker, Lesa (Earl) Wing, Pam (Steve) Riggs, brother Paul (Linda) Kahle and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father William; nephew Jacob Glenn.
