Linda Boehler

Linda Boehler, 77, passed peacefully on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at her home with her children by her side. She was brave in the face of a brief illness, having very recently been diagnosed with incurable lung cancer.

She was born June 10, 1948, on the farm where she grew up in Godfrey, Illinois. Linda was the daughter of the late Joseph and Eunice (McDow) Stiritz.

Linda worked as a loan processor for many years with Olin Employees Credit Union. Linda was a loving mother to many, a great cook, and enjoyed traveling and the occasional glass of wine. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Alton.

On November 1, 1969, she married Roy Boehler and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Nicole Boehler of Tübingen, Germany, and her son, Kyle (Bridget) Boehler, and their children, Joseph and Maeve, of St. Louis, Missouri. Also surviving are three stepdaughters, Janice Snelling, Lynda Wimsatt, and Sandy Salyers, and their families, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene Stiritz and William Stiritz, and three sisters, Patricia Ward, Betty Siemer, and Janet Ragsdale. 

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at First Presbyterian Church in Alton. Pastor Ian Caveny will officiate.

The family will receive guests at a luncheon in Linda’s honor at Gentelin’s on Broadway immediately following the service. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
