Linda Andrus

Linda J. Andrus, 77. passed away Monday, September 23, 2024 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

Born Apr. 17, 1947 in Alton, she was a daughter of Earl and Evelyn (Clark) Allen.

She married Edwin Lee Andrus Sept. 18, 1965 in Alton. He passed away May 10, 2014.

Linda was a member and Deacon at LoveJoy United Presbyterian Church in Wood River. She enjoyed traveling, watching the birds at her feeder, and arts and crafts. She was a talented artist and cook. Simply put, she loved being a mom. 

She is survived by her children, Sharon (Rick) Maurice of Princeton, KY, Jennifer (Lou) Thery of Bunker Hill, Kimberly (Ryan) Spano of Roxana, and Edwin Michael (Adrienne) Andrus of Wood River; grandchildren, Rochelle (Melissa Hantz) Maurice, Joshua (fiance Kenzie Sneed) Huber, Whitney (Blake) Lyerly, Michael (Janie) Edel, Mikayla (boyfriend Jordan) Spano, Tyelor (girlfriend Brooklyn) Spano, Brayden Andrus, Gavin Andrus, Maurice Sparks and Madelynn Cranmer; two great grandchildren, Ellie and Emery Edel; a brother, Don (Robin) Allen of Oklahoma; and a host of many adopted children and grandchildren who will miss her.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Jacob Maurice; two sisters, Mary Ogle and Barbara Pratt; and a brother, Jerry Allen.

Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29 at Paynic Home for Funerals, and will continue Monday, Sept. 30 at LoveJoy United Presbyterian Church in Wood River from 10 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m.  Rev. Daniel Ervin will officiate.

Private burial will be at a later date at Woodland Hill Cemetery.
