Lillie M. Armstrong

Lillie M. Armstrong 92 passed away at 7:41 pm, Monday, September 6, 2010 at her residence.



She was born on April 2, 1918 in Ridgely, TN to the lade Robert and Vennie (Mathney) Law. 



She married J.T. Dial in 1936 in Hickman KY.  He was in WWII in Italy and is buried there.  She later married Herman Armstrong in Chicago, IL in 1946, they divorced and he also proceeded her in death.



Lillie was employeed at the Owens Illinois Glass Company until her retirement at the plants closure. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed gardening, working with her flowers, decorating, playing bingo, cooking, traveling and being with her family and friends.



She is survived by a daughter Ruth (Dial) Figge of Alton; four grandchildren and their spouses, Michael & Donna Young of Alton, Melinda & Tim Young of Godfrey, Patrick & Nancy Young of Fosterburg and Beth & Rob Sands of Aurora, IL; nine great grandchildren, Charlie, Bryan, Amy, Sara, Joe, Candy, Shaun, Emly and Kyle; one great great grandchild Jackson Charles and two sisters, Catherine Jones of Union City, TN and Betty Pederson of Fulton, KY.



She was preceded in death by her parents; Husbands; son, H. Robert Armstrong; son-in-law, Charles Figge; one brother, Bill Law and four sisters, Dorothy Yates, Laverne Lambers, Alice Stout and Joyce Miles.



Visitation will be from 2 pm to 4 pm on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL.



Graveside services will be at Valhalla Memorial Park, in Godfrey, IL on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, with Pastor Daymond Talkington officiating. 



Memorials may be made to ALS in memory of her son-in-law, Charles Figge and or the Alzheimers Association.
