Lillian Jean Lamparter, 80, died at 9:25 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2014 at St. Anthony’s Hospital. Born April 26, 1934 in Kane, IL, she was the daughter of Harvey and Rosena (Crawford) Mundy. She had been a member of Faith Lutheran Church and was an avid bowler. In 2003 she retired as head cook at St. Anthony’s Hospital after 30 years of service. On June 15, 1950 she married Paul H. Lamparter. He preceded her in death on April 8, 1995. Surviving is a daughter, Vicky Skelton (Merle) of Alton, a son, Paul A. Lamparter of Alton, five grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a brother, Rick Mundy of California. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Nathan Paul Skelton, three brothers, Roy, Joe, and Bob Mundy, and two sisters, Dorothy Cruz and Ilene. A memorial visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Burial will be private at Upper Alton Cemetery.
