Lila Mae (Franke) Mortland, 75, died at 8:30 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2012 at Eunice Smith Home in Alton.
Born September 8, 1936 in Batchtown, IL, she was the daughter of Howard and Helen (Zigrang) Franke. A loving grandmother, she cared for her home and family.
She enjoyed cooking, crafting, animals, music, and church. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Alton and Calhoun and the the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW in Edwardsville. She was a resident of Eunice Smith Home since December 2004.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert Lee Mortland. A son, Ronald Mortland and his wife Susan and their children, Connor, Cameron, and Abbey. A daughter, Linda Mortland and her children, Brian and Jennifer Stahlhut. A brother, David Franke and a sister, Sondra Lightfoot. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton with an Eastern Star service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2012 at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Godfrey. Reverend Jerry MeCaskey will officiate. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
