Lewis Tomlinson

Lewis “Ed” Edward Tomlinson, 81, of rural Plainview, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Hallmark Healthcare in Carlinville.

He was born on January 17, 1944, in Harco, IL, the son of the late Lewis Henry and Mary Belle (Wilson) Tomlinson.

Ed married Linda Kitchens on September 1, 1962, in Macon GA, while serving our Country in the United States Navy. He was stationed on the USS independence during the Cuban Crisis. Ed spent 44 years working as a Laborer for Collinsville Local 44 Labor Union. He was a farmer who enjoyed raising livestock.

He is survived by two sons, Lewis Allen Tomlinson of Plainview and Paul (Samantha) Tomlinson of Collinsville; two grandchildren, Lewis Michael Tomlinson and Randi Tomlinson; four step grandchildren, Nicolas Fonseca, Lucas Coffin, Samson Coffin, and Cody Coffin; two sisters, Shirley (Dan) Ray and Kristina Partridge; one brother, Rick (Cindy) Tomlinson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Kathy Roseberry and Sharon Kepler.

Visitation will be held from 9 am until time of funeral service at 11 am on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton. Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
