He was born on June 26, 1920, in Alton, IL, the son of Henry & Inez Timmermeier.
He married Dorothy L. Schenk in West Alton, MO on October 6, 1951. She survives.
Leslie was employed at LaClede Steel as an ironworker for several years, retiring in 1976. He served his country during WWII in the Coast Guard. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in West Alton, MO, the Alton VFW Post 1308, Alton Moose and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Lodge # 254 of Alton. He enjoyed working out doors, farming, raising ducks and chickens and spending time with family and friends, especially his granddaughter.
He is survived by wife; two sons, Keith M Timmermeier of Belleville and Kirk Timmermeier of West Alton; one granddaughter and her husband, Jessica & Clark Bates; three great grandchildren, Tony, Tayla and Bethany and two sisters, Vida Westenkueler of Florissant, MO and Curly Inez Bextermueller of West Alton, MO.
He his preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Steven and Michael Timmermeier and one sister Pearl LaClair.
Funeral memorial mass will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in West Alton, MO, with Fr. Robert Banken officiating.
Burial will take place at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the funeral home in care of the family.
