LeRoy Wrigley

LeRoy G. Wrigley, Jr., age 83 of Alhambra, IL, died Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

He was born on Thursday, September 10, 1942, in East Saint Louis, IL, the son of LeRoy and Ellen (nee Thamel) Wrigley.

On Saturday, September 1, 1962, he married Joan Carol Wrigley (nee Kostyshock), who survives.

He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.

LeRoy was born in East St. Louis and grew up in Fairmount City. He graduated from Collinsville High School in 1961. At the age of 19, he started working for McDonnell-Douglas. After 35 years of service, he retired in 1996.LeRoy enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to camp locally, fish, hunt (ducks) and garden. LeRoy liked to tinker around in the garage. He cherished his time with the grandkids.

  • Grandchild - Jenna M. (Dustin) Compton
  • Grandchild - Daniel M. Wrigley
  • Grandchild - Julie M. (Bryan) Jett
  • Grandchild - Jillian K. (Nicholas) Hemann
  • Great Grandchild - Sofia Tieman
  • Great Grandchild - Zoey Tieman

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Marine, IL.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Marine, IL, with Father John P. Beveridge, officiating.

Interment will be at Marine Cemetery in Marine, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
