Leonard Leroy Chapman, 68, of Shipman, passed away at 2:00 am on Mon Sept 10, 2018 at Jersey Community Hospital. He was born on Nov 11. 1949 in Jacksonville, IL to the late John & Goldie (Meyer) Chapman.
He married Candy (Young) Chapman on July 10, 1971 in Shipman.
Besides his wife, he is survived by sons & daughters in laws: Jeremy & Tonia Chapman of Bethalto, Joshua & Courtney Chapman of New Delhi and Randy Chapman of Murfreesboro, TN, daughter: Ashley Chapman and Joshua Bourbon of Shipman. Grandchildren: Timothy Clemons, Austin DeVaisher, Angel Chapman, Aisha Covington and Aries Bourbon. Sisters: Rosa Kincaid of Shipman and brothers: Robert & Mary Chapman of Dorchester and Thurman & Frances Chapman of Hettick.
He retired from Olin Corp as a machinist after 38 years and was a US Army Viet Nam veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandchild, sisters: Faye Brown and Grace Payne and brothers: George & John Joseph Chapman.
Visitation will be 5-8 pm Thurs Sept 13, 2018 at Targhetta Funeral Home in Shipman.
Funeral Services will be at 8 pm Thurs Sept 13, 2018 at Targhetta Funeral Home in Shipman with Rev Jim Driver officiating.
Burial will be at 10 am on Fri Sept 14, 2018 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St Louis.
