Leo Marmino

Leo John 'Louie' Marmino, 80, passed away 8:37 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2014 at his residence.Born in Wood River on July 10, 1933, he was the son of Rossalino and Sarah (Guarino) Marmino.A Korean War army veteran, he worked 52 years as a laborer out of Labor Local #338 until he retired in 1995.On December 28, 1958 in East Alton, he married the former Jeanette Burcham.  She survives.Surviving also are a son, Leo (Mary) Marmino of Godfrey; a daughter, Marla Marmino of Dow; two grandchildren, Kaleigh Merkel and Terry Marmino; four great grandchildren; a brother, Sam Marmino of Wood River; and two sisters, Katie Eubanks of O'Fallon, MO and Mary Lekic of Colorado.Preceding him in death were his parents; a grandson, Jimmie Johns; and three brothers, Angelo, John and Ross Marmino.Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday.Burial will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with military honors.
