Lee Schanuel

Lee Arthur Schanuel, 89, of Belleville, IL, born Friday, December 25, 1936, in Belleville, IL, passed away peacefully Friday, January 16, 2026 at his residence.

Lee worked as a Market Analyst for McDonnell-Douglas. He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Belleville, IL. He and his wife were active volunteers with the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. In his younger days, he loved to build and fly model airplanes and work a pit crew at Bel Clair Stock Car Races. He loved to fish, hunt and do woodworking. He was a huge Nascar fan. He was a gifted musician, artist and craftsman. He was a true Renaissance man. Later in life, his favorite places to be were on his houseboat or by his pool.
