Leanna E. Poore, 90 of Granite City, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at The Fountains in Granite City surrounded by her family.
Leanna was born on March 7, 1928 in Brashear, Missouri; the daughter of the late Glenn and Tessie Marie (Roberts) Walters. Leanna was a supervisor at General American Life Insurance Company and in her free time she enjoyed her days spending time with her family. Leanna will be remembered for her kind heart and all the special times she shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by and will be missed by her children; Terrie (Dennis) Sollberger of Edwardsville, Illinois, Jerry (Amy) Poore of Quincy, Illinois; grandchildren, Kristin (Matthew) Laws, Brett (Kelly) Sollberger, Kate Sollberger (Michael Hurt), Jamie (David) Marshall, Kristopher (Morgan) Poore; great-grandchildren, Lucy Laws, Benjamin Laws, Nora Sollberger, Warrick Marshall; brother, John Walters and numerous nieces, nephews and many other extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Leanna was preceded in death by her husband; James R. Poore, whom she married on September 18, 1948 and her brother, Raphael Walters.
In celebration of Leanna’s life, a memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bill Hale officiating at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. A family burial will take place on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Park View Memorial Gardens, 2100 East Shepard Ave., Kirksville, Missouri. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the charity of one’s choice.
