Lawrence “Little Buddy” Crowder, 86 departed this life Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Mayfield Nursing and Rehab Center. Lawrence was born February 18, 1927 in Grenada, MS to the union of the late Sam and Annie (Caffey) Crowder. In Grenada, he attended public schools and was baptized under the late Reverend Lee. He leaves to cherish fond memories: a son, Earl Crowder of Chicago; 4 sisters, Viola Jackson, Yvonne Stevenson, Maxine Hughes all of Alton, and Gloria (Terry)Mitchell of Godfrey; an aunt, Adria Williams of Cleveland, OH; an uncle, Huddie Caffey of Grenada, MS ; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Jean Crowder; a step father, Elton Smith; 2 brothers, Sylvester Crowder and Elton Smith, Jr.; 2 sisters, Mammie Lee Crowder and Odessa (Smith) Wallace.Visitation will convene Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 2 until time of service at 3:00 p.m. at Harrison Funeral Chapel.
