Lawrence J. “Larry” Leuck, 81, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
Born Oct. 30, 1942 in Alton, he was a son of Joseph and Irene (Jones) Leuck.
Larry graduated from East Alton-Wood River High School and later from Ranken Trade School. Larry worked as a draftsman for Shell Oil Co. in Roxana, retiring in 1999. Larry enjoyed spending time and boating at the Lake of the Ozarks and also enjoyed NASCAR. Larry was a 20+ year member of the Alton Motor Boat Club. Larry loved to have fun, and his favorite entertainer was Jimmy Buffett.
Larry married his high school sweetheart, Jeraldine Haydon, on Sept. 8, 1962 in Wood River. She survives, along with two sons, Mark (Glynda) Leuck of Wood River and Michael (Kym) Leuck of Morgantown, IN; and 5 grandchildren, Adam, Aaron, Mark, Jr., Hanna, and Haley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Rita Smelser and Carolyn “Carrie” Richards; and a brother, Michael “Mick” Leuck.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, Apr. 5 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 4 p.m. until memorial services start at 6 p.m.
