Lawrence Hailer

Lawrence “Larry” Hailer, 74, passed away at 7:50pm on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at Christian Hospital Northeast with his family by his side. He was born on July 27, 1943, in Alton, the son of the late George and Virginia (Harris) Sr. He married the former Nora Howell on December 12, 1974, in Alton, and she preceded him in death on February 18, 2011. Survivors include two daughters and a son in law: Lisa Davis of Wood River, Melissa and Nathan Bloodworth of Bethalto, four grandchildren: Ryan Davis, Zachary Davis, Clark Bloodworth, Sylvia Bloodworth, three great grandchildren: Max Davis, Brantley Davis, Renleigh Davis, a sister in law: Carol Hailer of Alton, a nephew: Steven Hailer of Alton, a niece and her husband: Julie and Keith Swallow of Rolla, Missouri, and his aunt: Juanita Lane of East Alton.

Larry was formerly employed in the warehouse at Pepsi for over 42 years. He loved to golf, watch golf on television, play cards, and games. He loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson: Cy Whaley Bloodworth, and a brother: George Hailer, Jr.

Private funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, in the chapel at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Burial immediately followed. Pastor Andy Turner officiated.
