LaVerne Robert “Butch” Willeford, age 83 of Greenville, Illinois passed away on December 6, 2024. Butch was born on December 31, 1940 in Highland, Illinois to Thomas Willeford and Bernice (Meyer) Willeford.
Butch married Judy (Rench) Willeford on June 19, 1965 in Greenville, Illinois and they shared 59 years of marriage. In addition to his loving wife Judy Willeford, Butch is survived by his sons, Mark Willeford, son Brock (Sara) Willeford and grandchildren, Zack Willeford, Jessica Kesselring, Karen Kesselring and Olivia Kesselring. Butch is also survived by a sister, Joyce Eversgerd (Willeford), brother and sister in law, Charles Kern and Glenda (Rench) Kern and brother and sister in law, Nick Devall and Patricia (Rench) Devall and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Butch attended Highland public schools and served in the United States Army thereafter. Butch was a dedicated and hardworking man throughout his life having driven a truck for Pet Milk and Amaco before starting his own trucking business and Circle W Tire with his wife Judy in 1980. Butch and Judy enjoyed traveling the country in their RV with their dog Sandy and also enjoyed many trips and adventures with their grandchildren.
The visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville with services to begin at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Auburn Cemetery with military honors provided by Bond County Veterans.
Memorials made in Butch’s memory are suggested to Greenville First Christian Church, Greenville, Illinois.
