LaVerne Marie Flinn, 94 of Granite City, Illinois passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at The Fountains in Granite City.
LaVerne was born on September 29, 1924 in Granite City; the daughter of the late Joseph Roy and Ella (Kogel) Pinkerton. LaVerne was a mom, homemaker and grandma who enjoyed her days of traveling, working puzzles and reading. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. LaVerne will be remembered for the love of her family and all the special times they shared together.
LaVerne is survived by and will be missed by her daughter; Peggy Flinn of Granite City; grandchildren, Nikki Briggs (Daniel Krantz) of Chicago, Samantha (David) Price of Granite City, Alexander Briggs (fiancé Brant Hall) of Cookeville, TN; great-grandchildren, Josephine Briggs and soon to be on the way, Abigail Price.
In addition to her parents, LaVerne was preceded in death by her brother; Gerald Pinkerton; sister, Norma Dickerson.
In celebration of LaVerne’s life friends may call on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorial donations are suggested to St, Jude Childrens Hospital.
