Laura Lee Tellier, a dedicated psychiatric practitioner and lifelong advocate for the arts and the protection of the unborn, passed away on Friday, July 3rd, 2026, just two days shy of her 74th birthday. Born in Alton, IL, on July 5th, 1952, Laura lived a life that was deeply rooted in compassion, community, and creativity.
The daughter of the late Charles D. Bazzell and Helen I. Bazzell, Laura was a proud member of the Alton High School Class of 1970. She pursued higher education at East Texas University, where she earned a degree in Art and Marketing, channels that fueled her lifelong passion for the arts.
Survivors include daughters; Heather and Jammey Tellier, son; Michael Tellier, grandchildren; Jeremy and Britney, great grandchildren; Kimberly and Brody, brothers and siters-in law; Tim (Barbara) Bazzell, Brandon (Katy) Bazzell.
Laura's career was defined by her work as a certified psychiatric practitioner at Boley Behavioral Mental Health in Florida. Known for her empathetic approach and dedication to her patients, she was a beacon of hope for countless individuals.
Her commitment to service extended beyond her profession. Laura spent two years on church missions assisting those affected by leprosy and worked with the Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George, sharing her kindness and faith.
An ardent supporter of the arts, Laura’s life was enriched by her love for painting, sculpture, and music. Her dedication to preserve life and the well-being of the unborn was ever-present through her involvement with various charitable organizations.
Private services to honor Laura’s life and legacy will be held at a later date. Those wishing to commemorate her are encouraged to make donations to the Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George, continuing her mission of care and compassion.
