Larry D. Schuessler, 83, of Glen Carbon and formerly of Bethalto, Illinois, passed away at 7:59 a.m. on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
He was born January 20, 1942, in Jacksonville, Illinois, the son of the late John and Helen (Bowser) Schuessler. Larry retired in 2002 from Olin Brass in East Alton after 40 years of dedicated service as a machinist.
Larry enjoyed traveling the world throughout his life and cherished his early years spent fishing. He will be remembered for his kindness, his gentle spirit, and the special times shared with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl A. (Kienle) Schuessler, whom he married in Bethalto in August 1982; his daughter, Lori Crowson of Bethalto; his sister, Pat Farley of Godfrey; and many extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sue Schuessler; his daughter, Julie Schuessler; his sister, Janice; and three brothers, Howard, Paul, and Robert.
In celebration of his life, and in accordance with his wishes, private burial will take place at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Glen-Ed Food Pantry.
