Larry R. Murphy Sr., 72, passed away at 4:15 am, Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
He was born in Pike County, IL on November 4, 1943, the son of James and Josephine (Crook) Murphy.
Larry was employed as a Press Operator at Alsey Brick Plant. He enjoyed spending time with his Family and Friends.
Larry is survived by his wife, Betty Murphy of White Hall; five children and their spouses, Richard & Rayla Murphy of White Hall, Larry Richard Jr & Sharon Murphy of Roodhouse, IL, Kevin Murphy of Springfield, IL, Troy Murphy of Roodhouse and Nancy Murphy of Johnston City, IL; several grand and great grand children; two brothers Eugene Murphy and Kenneth Murphy both of Bluffs, IL and three sisters Carol Garman of Bluffs, IL, Gail Murphy of Jacksonville, IL, and Patty Murphy of Pinckneyville, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Sherry L. Dixon and a brother Steve Murphy.
Visitation will be from 1 until time of memorial service at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
Memorials may be made to the family for funeral expenses.
