Larry E. Ludwig, 72, of Moro, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at his residence with his family by his side, under the care of BJC Hospice.
He was born in East St. Louis, IL, on December 17, 1951, the son of William P. and Beverly M. (Vollintine) Ludwig, Sr.
Larry worked for 45 years at a mechanic for Ditch Witch Sales, Inc. He enjoyed hunting. Larry also enjoyed spending his spare time with friends and family, especially his granddaughter.
He is survived by his significant other, Norma J. Carroll; his son, Matthew (Tori) Ludwig of Cottage Hills; a step-daughter, Julia Ducey of Moro; a brother, Bill (Shelia) Ludwig of Columbia, IL; a sister-in-law, Betty Ann Ludwig of Tuscola, IL; his granddaughter, Sophie; numerous nieces and nephews; and his hunting partners, Joe Ludwig, Michael Ludwig, Bill Kaspareck, John Edler, and Jeff Parker.
Along with his parents, Larry was preceded in death by two brothers, John Ludwig and James Ludwig.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, from 9:30 am until time of service at 11 am, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Pastor Terry McKinzie will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
