Larry E. Campbell, 78, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Christian Hospital Northeast.
Born May 2, 1938 in Alton, he was a son of Chalen and Dorothy (Dossett) Campbell.
He married Mary Lou Roe July 23, 1960 in Wood River. She survives.
Larry worked as a melter and supervisor for Laclede Steel in Alton. He loved fishing, had a tremendous garden, and loved his St. Louis Cardinals. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Wood River.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Paula (Stan) Bozarth of Brighton; two sons, Michael and Kevin Campbell of East Alton; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; a sister, Marilyn Hanks of Kentucky; and two brothers, Darrell Campbell of Carlinville and Richard Campbell of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Daniel Campbell; and 9 siblings.
Visitation will be at Paynic Home for Funerals on Saturday, Apr. 8, from 9 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m. Father Donald Wolford will officiate.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
