Lance Franklin Myers, 60, of Brighton, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at OSF St. Anthony’s Health Center in Alton with his wife and family members by his side.
He was born on February 19, 1965, in Wood River, the son of the late Ronald E. and Dorothy J. (Bourland) Myers.
Lance worked as a welder and machinist for National Maintenance and repair. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers, and Helpers. Lance was a lifelong resident of Brighton. Everyone who met him, loved him, having more friends than anyone could imagine. He loved to entertain and BBQ, everyday if he could. He loved to ride dirtbikes and four wheelers.
He married Mary Byrd on September 27, 1997, in Brighton. She survives.
In addition to Mary, he is survived by two stepchildren Mike (Kelly) Smith of Bethalto and James (Tara) Smith of Westbrook, CT; five grandchildren Mykah, Mason, Sierra, Dylan, and Harley Smith; sister Vicki Miller; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Ralph Myers; brother in law Charles Miller.
Visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of memorial service at 12 pm on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.
Burial will take place at Brighton Cemetery at a later date.
