L. Phyllis Yeager, 84, passed away 9:09 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2018 at Alton Memorial Hospital with her son and daughter-in-law at her side.
Born in New Haven, IL on May 13, 1934, she was the daughter of George W. and Della (Ridley) Chastain.
Phyllis had been an Operator Services Supervisor for AT&T for 24 years before retiring in 1993.
She loved the Lord; was a strong woman; and was loved by many. She was a member of the American Legion Post 0224 Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are a son, David (Susan) Yeager of Moro; grandchildren, Jonah and Emmah Yeager;and nephews, Jim Blazier of Wentzville, MO, Val Hogue of Madisonville, KY and Donald Hollingsworth of Evansville, IN.
Her parents; brother, Winfred Chastain; sisters, Joyce Westerhold, Elfrieda Spiller, Clara Hogue; and nephews, Jerry Blazier, Kenneth Shoppell and Winfred Hoy preceded in death.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m., Thursday, May 31 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
Private burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
