Kodi was born in Wood River March 21, 1993, the son of Nina Van Voorst of Granite City.
Also survived by grandparents Margaret Fletcher of Granite City, Frans Van Voorst IV of Glen Carbon, Susan Vinton of Granite City, Step father Mark Begando of Highland. Daughter Kadance Van Voorst, Sister Izabelle Sweazey of Pontoon Beach, brothers Nolan Begando of Highland and Kameron Gunther of Pontoon Beach, many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 9:00 am till service Monday, February 4, 2019 at Thomas Saksa Funeral Home Granite City, Illinois.

Burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery Monday, February 4, 2019 at 12:30 pm with full military honors for the decorated Kuwait Army veteran.
