Kevin Wayne Simmons, age 59 of Greenville, passed away at his home Tuesday, August 26, 2025.
In keeping with Kevin’s wishes, no public services will be held. Kevin wanted to tell others to save a life by not smoking. The family all thank Bond County Hospice for their support and comfort. Memorials are asked to be made to the family c/o Karena Cruthis, 1402 Blue Street, Greenville, Illinois 62246. Donnell–Wiegand Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.
Kevin is survived by his lifelong partner Karena Cruthis of Greenville, children: Kyle Simmons (Lisa) of Pana, IL, Wess Simmons of Stonington, IL, and Cayla Simmons (Trevor) of Vandalia, IL. Grandchildren: Kaydence, Keegan, Kolsen, Kora Simmons of Pana, IL.
Siblings surviving sister Jane Davis (Jim) of SpringHill, FL., and brother Scott Simmons Sr. (Stacey) of SpringHill, FL. siblings: Teresa (Mike) Minnick of Dallas, GA., and Ray (Annie) McKane of Mt. Vernon, IL.
So many family and dear friends including aunt Sandy (Dave) Whitlock, step-mother Mary Simmons, nieces and nephews: Samantha Budds, Craig (Jessica) Budds, Tory Budds, Andy Minnick, Kristy Simmons, MaKayla Williams, Kevin Williams, Becky Campbell, and dear friend Jane Worstell and many great nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Don and Donna Simmons, sister Jean Budds, cousin Lisa MaKane, nephew Scott Simmons Jr., and nephew Mathew Minnick.
Kevin loved fishing, playing cards and winning, and working around the house. He enjoyed playing pool, watching movies, but most important was spending time with friends and family.
