Kenneth Beasley

South Roxana |

The Honorable Mayor of the Village of South Roxana, Kenneth Michael Beasley, 69, left this world, 12:34 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Alton Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Born in St. Louis on November 19, 1946, he was son of Sam and Norma Jean (Harbin) McClure.

Kenny loved his community, family and friends. He had worked as a concrete finisher out of Cement and Masons Local #90 for 30 years.

He was currently serving his 4th term in office as Mayor in the Village of South Roxana.  Prior to his election, he served the Village as Building and Zoning Inspector, was a trustee for the South Roxana Fire Protection District, served as a reserve police officer for the village and co-owned "Debbie's Market".

He married the former, Deborah Blankenship, who survives in 35 years of marriage.

Surviving also are sons, Brit Beasley, Chris (Jenny) Williams, Kevin Beasley, David (Jen) Davis, Donnie (Tiffany) Davis; daughter, Renee Reader; 17 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

His parents and a daughter, Kimberly McClure preceded in death.

A Celebration of Life Memorial visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. Friday at Bethalto Church of God Church, 800 E. Bethalto Dr, Bethalto.  Pastor Shea Hughes will officiate.

Marks Mortuary in Wood River is in charge of arrangements.
