Kenneth James Laughlin, 67, of Staunton, IL, passed away at his residence on Sunday, September 6, 2026 at 12:25 am.
He was born June 12, 1959, in Litchfield, IL to Henry Laughlin & Virginia Heyen Laughlin. He married Susan Carol Thomae Laughlin on July 9, 1991 in Las Vegas, NV.
He was retired after having worked as an operator for Olin Brass Mill.
"He was the best of men. Hard working, humble, and patient. Family was everything to him. He felt privileged to live in God's country, his paradise on earth. Kenny was a man of his word, he lived his life with integrity. When they made this man they broke the mold."
He is survived by his spouse, Susan Laughlin of Staunton, IL, children, Jessica (Joshua) Kozak of Gillespie, IL, Spencer Laughlin of Benld, IL, Morgan Laughlin of Staunton, IL, grandson, Logan Belcher, sister, Kathleen (Jerry) Rondi of Mt. Clare, IL and sister in law, Vicki Laughlin of Benld, IL.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roger Laughlin. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 4:00 pm at Gillespie Methodist Church. The doors will open at 3:30 pm and after the 4:00 pm service there will be a reception in the church hall. Memorials are suggested to Gillespie Methodist Church.
