Kenneth J. Darte, 97, of Wadsworth, IL, formerly of Benld, IL, died at Galloway Senior Living, Wadsworth, IL on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 2:10 a.m. He was born January 19, 1927, in Mt. Clare, IL to Fred Darte & Louisa Turigliatto Darte. He married Marjorie L. Chappell Darte on March 1, 1947 in Wilsonville, IL. She preceded him in death on February 19, 2020. He was retired after having been a foreman for Shell Refinery. Kenneth was a veteran of the US Army after having served during WWII. He was also a former member of the Benld Fire Department. Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Marcia Lynn (Richard) Marek of Zion, IL, grandchildren, Christopher (Tera) Secoy, Jeremy (Annette) Secoy, 7 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Kenneth was preceded in death by parents, spouse, siblings, Alfred Darte, Beatrice Firth, Kennard B Darte, and Leona Gaudio. Visitation will be on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Kravanya Funeral Home, Benld, IL from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. with funeral services to follow at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Benld Cemetery, Benld, IL.
