GODFREY – Kelly Jo Norris, 47, died at 4:42 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Jersey County after a valiant battle with Pancreatic Cancer.  She was born on February 1, 1970 in Minneapolis, MN to Charles J. & Nancy Jo (Schmith) Lee.

Kelly grew up in Paris, IL and graduated with the class of 1988 from Paris High School and furthered her education at Eastern Illinois University where she earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Child Psychology and met the love of her life, Eric Norris. Kelly and Eric married on May 16, 1992 in Danville and albeit far too short, their marriage was blessed with two wonderful children and she was looking forward to celebrating their upcoming 25th wedding anniversary.  Their family lived in various locations throughout the years, including Pittsfield prior to settling in Jersey County where they have remained for the past 15 years.  She worked for nearly 20 years as a Quality Assurance Director for WellSpring Resources in Alton before taking a position as a Systems Consultant with Qualifacts, where she worked for the past two years.

Kelly was a true lover of life and people, and her family meant the world to her. She and Eric enjoyed traveling together, with Fort Meyers, FL & the Blue Ridge Mountains being some of her favorite destinations. Her love for her children was unconditional and there was never a school activity or special occasion that she missed and she truly relished in each and every moment she spent with them. Her big heart, warm smile and brilliant mind will be cherished in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.  Surviving are her husband Eric Norris of Jersey County; a son and daughter, Michael A. Norris of Elsah and Marcie E. Norris, a student at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb; her mother and father, Charles J. & Nancy Jo Lee and a brother, Kevin Lee all of Paris; her maternal grandmother, Marion Schmith of Wadena, MN as well as her mother and father-in-law, Randy & Sharon Norris of Half Way, MO (formerly of Danville).

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Warren & Marcella Lee; and her maternal grandfather, Bud Schmith.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 Tuesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.

In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials may be given to the Lustgarden Foundation, a Pancreatic Cancer research foundation
