Keith Taylor

Keith William Taylor, age 69, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO, with his loving family by his side.

Keith was born on March 10, 1956, in Decatur, IL, a beloved son of the late Robert and Kathleen (Fleming) Taylor.

On September 26, 1986, Keith married the love of his life, Susan “Suzie” Romeo, in St. Louis, MO, and together they shared thirty-nine wonderful years filled with laughter, love, and devotion.

Keith retired in 2005 from Snelson Autobody in Granite City, IL, where he worked as an alignment technician for many years. His passion for cars was unmatched — he could repair, paint, and rebuild just about anything with wheels. Whether watching NASCAR or drag racing on TV or cheering at the racetrack, Keith’s love for motorsports ran deep.

He was also known for being a perfectionist when it came to his lawn — every blade of grass was trimmed just right. But above all, Keith’s pride and joy was his family. He loved life, he loved to laugh, and he loved deeply. Keith will be remembered as a hardworking, kindhearted man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand — whether to family, friends, or even a stranger in need.

In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by his brothers, Russell and Kevin Taylor.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Suzie Taylor of Granite City, IL; his loving children, Ashley Martin of O’Fallon, IL, Lauren (Travis) Thomas of Wentzville, MO, and Taylor Cole, a dear neighbor turned son; his cherished grandchildren, Makenna and Mason Thomas, Colin and Finn Martin; his dear sister, Lorraine Taylor-Hassell of Maryland Heights, MO; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and wonderful friends.

A memorial gathering celebrating Keith’s life will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Irwin Chapel in Granite City, IL.

Those who wish to share a memory or express condolences may do so online at www.irwinchapel.com.

Keith will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
