Kathleen Oughton

Kathleen “Kathy” Marie, nee Gantner, Oughton, 74, of Belleville, IL, born July 7, 1951, in Belleville, IL, passed away in Christ Saturday, December 20, 2025.

Kathy was a graduate of St. Teresa’s Elementary School, class of 1965, and a graduate of the Academy of Notre Dame, class of 1969. She was a very devoted catholic and avid member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL. In her earlier years, she enjoyed being a hairdresser before becoming a homemaker and taking care of her daughter. After raising her daughter, Kathy became the Director of Religious Education at St. Teresa’s grade school for 20 years. She also enjoyed being a member of the church choir, baking, and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Ralph “Jay” Oughton, Jr.; and her parents, James and Emily, nee Grau, Gantner.

Kathy is survived by her daughter, Laura Oughton; a sister, Barbara (Dennis) Pollmann; two brothers-in-law, David (Marie) Oughton and Neal (Nancie) Oughton; cousins, Art Gantner, MaryBeth (Patrick) Barnes, and Richard Gantner; and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would like to thank the entire Memory Care staff at Villas of Hollybrook for the care and comfort they gave Kathy.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2025, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2025, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.

Burial will be held at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
