Kathleen Marie Darr, age 65, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018,
7:02 p.m. with loved ones by her side, at St. Louis University Hospital.
She was born May 1, 1952 in Alton and was the daughter of the late
Cleveland H. “Bud” and Martha L. (nee: Henrion) Dykeman.
She graduated in 1970 from Marquette Catholic High School, and later was employed for 27 years as a Data Entry Clerk at Millers Mutual Insurance and then worked at Macy’s in Alton, and later as a cashier at Walmart in Wood River .
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchild, and enjoyed knitting, going to Farmers Market and concerts, and was an avid reader and was a fan of the band Chicago.
Survivors include her daughter; Samantha Smith of Godfrey,
Four sisters; Kris (Sam) Lafikes of Rushville, Kim (Ed) Graf of Alton,
Karla (Bob) Gossell of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Karin King of Alton,
Two grandchildren; Sonni Galvan and Sloan Smith
a great-grandchild; Emmett Menke
many nieces and nephews, other family and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her
Fiancée Jerry Olson.
Visitation will be Friday, February 23, 2018, at Staten-Fine Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m.
Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Godfrey.
Memorials may be made to Haskell House Children’s Museum.
