Kathleen Gourley

Kathleen “Katie” Ruth Gourley, nee Robertson, 92, of Belleville, IL, born July 22, 1934, in Woodward, IA, died Sunday, July 25, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her loved ones.

Kathleen grew up in the small town of Greenfield, IA. She met her husband in Fontanelle, IA, and became a devoted Air Force wife for 26 years. She happily followed the love of her life around the world until they finally settled down in Belleville, IL. After moving to Belleville, she became a member of Union United Methodist Church. Kathleen enjoyed traveling and collecting rocks from all the places she visited. Above all she enjoyed raising her children and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Jo Lumb; a granddaughter, Nicole Kalnicki, and a great-grandson, Thomas Lanard Cook; her parents, Neil and Florence M. nee Hiltebrand, Robertson; her brother, Stanley D. Robertson; and her sister, Raidene F. Coe.

Surviving are her loving husband 73 years, Gene S. Gourley, whom she married on September 14, 1952; two daughters, Debora C. (Ronald) Voshell of Dover, DE and Robin R. Cook (Jim Aten) of Wyoming, MI; a son, Daniel G. (Cristine) Gourley of Boston, MA; a son-in-law, Edward Lumb of Wyoming, MI ten grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 33 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Union United Methodist Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Union United Methodist Church, Belleville, IL, with pastor Angie Lee officiating.

Burial will be at Valhalla Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
