Kathleen Arrowsmith, 87, died at 9:25 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born September 10, 1929 in Zeigler, IL she was the daughter of Walter and Zeda Tabor Sr. Mrs. Arrowsmith was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Alton and a former member of Curdie Heights Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 30 years. On November 18, 1947 she married Richard Arrowsmith in Centralia, IL. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1998. Surviving is a daughter, Kathy (Frank) Nickle of Brighton, three grandchildren, Jason (Beth) Arrowsmith of Godfrey, Samantha Nickle of Brighton (fiancé Nick Mueller of Florissant, MO), and Amanda Nickle of Brighton (fiancé Tyler Mantyh stationed with the U.S. Air Force in Germany), two great grandchildren, Lucca and Caroline Arrowsmith of Godfrey, a brother, Walter Tabor Jr. of Centralia, IL, and two sisters, Mary Ainscough of Centralia, IL, and Helen Patton of Centralia, IL. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Alan Arrowsmith, a grandson, Michael Sandbach, and her twin sister, Imogene Douglas. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Deadmond Cemetery in Odin, IL. Reverend Andre’ Dobson will officiate. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Alton.
