Kathern "Kay" M. Agard, 88, of Godfrey, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
She was born on October 27, 1937, in Royalton, IL, the daughter of James and Della (Clark) Haney.
Kay was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto and The Red Hat Society. She was very active at Asbury Village where she lived. Kay enjoyed dancing, reading the newspaper, and taking trips, especially to California where she actively help build 6 McDonalds Restaurants. She was an amazing mother, a "Supermom". For example, Kay was born before her time in the 60's, after Roger passed, she became the first female manager of Arlan Retail Store while raising 2 girls. She had a heart of gold and loved to help others both physically and financially.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Irene Voss (Craig Huss) of Simi Valley, CA; a brother, Fred (Nancy) Haney; and several nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Roger Agard and Jim Cohea; a daughter, Rebecca Trosley; and siblings, Mary Svoboda, Betty Hardesty, Robert (Mildred) Haney, and Roy (Jenny) Haney.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 4 to 5:30 pm, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 1 pm, at the funeral home. Pastor Brandon Metcalf and Pastor Kale Hanson will officiate.
Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
The family asks that you please wear casual clothing.
