Katherine Rosetta Surtani, 78, of Bethalto, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO with her family at her side. She was born January 29, 1939, in Winona, MS.
She married Ramesh Surtani November 18, 1972 in St. Louis, MO.
Katherine worked for 28 years as a case worker for the Illinois Dept. of Human Services; she retired in 2001.
She is survived by her husband, Ramesh Surtani of Bethalto; two sons, Tim Fee Sr. of East Alton and Mark (Isabel) Surtani of Clearwater, FL; daughter, Vickie (Steve) Simmons of Bethalto; eight grandchildren, Tim Fee Jr, John Fee, Teresa Moreline, Heather Williams, Shane Simmons, Markas Fee, Elijah Izquierdo, Orlando Izquierdo Jr; twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; five siblings, Bobby (Velma) Staggs of Alton, Doris (Monroe) Frazier of Jackson, MS, Kenny (Peggy) Staggs of Atlanta, GA, J.R. Staggs of Atlanta, Ga, Francis (Diane) Staggs of Atlanta, GA; sister-in-law Georgia Staggs of Cottage Hills, and a very close uncle and aunt Rhodi and Edith Miller of Wood River.
She was preceded in death by her father Preston Staggs, mother Naomi (Miller) Foster-Staggs, granddaughter Amber Fee, and brother J.B. Staggs.
