Cannon, 80, passed away at 12:17 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.She was born on August 4, 1938 in Haverhill, MA the daughter of the late John and Josephine (Gardina) Yellum.Katherine married Andrew Cannon in Alton in 1979. He preceded her in death in September 2011.Katherine was raised in San Jose, CA and in 1972 she moved to Godfrey where she created a family home. She worked for the Alton School District’s Bus Service for 15 years. Katherine loved to garden and was known for her vegetable garden.Katherine is survived by four children; John Mafort of California, Michael Mafort of Missouri, Kathleen (Mafort) Flynn of Illinois, Susan (Mafort) Peterson of Oregon; two sisters, Loretta Johnson, Nancy Maxwell; a sister-in-law, Barbara Koontz; great nephew, Lorenzo Johnson, 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa Huber and a brother, Frank Yellum.Per her wishes cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services.Memorials may be made to: Beverly Farms.Online condolences can be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
