Katherine Budde

Katherine Elaine Budde, 88, of Hartford, IL, passed away at 3:34 p.m. Sat. Oct. 24, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born Mar. 1, 1927 in New Berlin, IL to the late Carl F. & Lucy Ione (Johnson) Meyer.

On Nov. 22, 1947, she and Cletus Walter Budde were married in Wood River, IL.  He preceded her in death on Mar. 20, 1999.

Mrs. Budde was a nurse technician, retiring from Alton Mental Health after 20 years of service and was a proud member of AFSCME.  She loved spending time with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.  Mr. & Mrs. Budde were longtime members of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and Holy Angels Catholic Church.

Survivors include: 4 sons, James C. (Kathy) Budde of Alton, IL, Robert L. (Susan) Budde of Hartford, Paul A. (Vicky) Budde of Wood River and Christopher L. (Lisa) Budde of Livingston, IL, 3 daughters, Barbara E. (Dennis) Boger of East Alton, IL, Patricia L. (Steven Helfrich) Droit of Wood River and Mary C. (Phil Flanigan) Budde of Hartford, 15 grandchildren, Jennifer (David) Murray, David (Pamela) Boger, Lindsay (Ted McKinney) Droit, Nicholas Droit, Jonathan (Karrie) Denney, Joshua (Nealy) Budde, Craig (Barbara) Budde, Allison (Jacob) Ringering, Andrea Budde, Andrew Budde, Jessica (Ross) Cherepkai, Sarah (Kyle) Ogden, Philip Budde, Ethan Budde and Derek Rexford, 14 great-grandchildren, Ashton & Taylor Murray, Danica Boger, Austin Droit, Nolan McKinney, Kaitlyn, Kameron & Kaleb Denney, Olivia Budde, Nora & Elaina Ringering, Alexia Budde, Max Cherepkai and Blair Ogden and a sister, Helen Harvey of Corpus Christi, TX.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Meyer.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tues. Oct. 27, 2015 at Paynic Home for Funerals.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wed. Oct. 28, 2015 at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Fr. James Flach as celebrant.  Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Masses or a Charity of One’s Choice.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to caregivers, Terry, Brenda, Rosa, Jadin, Melissa, Morgan and BJC Hospice.
