Katherine Marie Brooks, 74, of Shipman, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at HSHS St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, IL.
She was born on April 3, 1949, in Alton, IL, the daughter of the late Robert and Helen (Musgrove) Partridge.
Kathy married Daniel D. Brooks on April 22, 1967, in Rosewood Heights, IL. He preceded her in death March 3, 2010.
She worked as a cook for Beverly farms in Alton and retired from Blackburn College as a Dietician after over 20 years. She enjoyed painting, reading, her flower garden, playing “Scratchers”, and Play Bible Word on her tablet.
Kathy is survived by three children, Danny (Karen) Brooks of House Springs, MO, Rosa “Kris” Brooks of Girard, and Chuck Brooks of Shipman; eleven grandchildren Sheena (Mike) Brooks, Derek (Mary) Brooks, Josh McDanel, Corey Brooks, Travis Brooks, Katie James, Nick (Kierstan) Thiebaud, Nancy (Nick) Thiebaud, Kayla Brooks, Tyler Brooks, and Dylan Brooks; nineteen great grandchildren; eleven siblings, Patrick Partridge, Timothy Partridge, Lonnie Partridge, George Partridge, Brian Partridge, Betsy Elberg, Penny Osborn, Candy Clore, Michelle Clore, and John Clore; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, and great great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; great granddaughter Dyamond Sloan; siblings, Robert Partridge, David Partridge, John Partridge, Nancy Carter, and Danny Dempkey.
Visitation will be held from 11 am until the time of Memorial Service at 1 pm on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Shipman United Methodist Church.
Burial will follow at Shipman Cemetery.
